Minutes – Monthly - Membership Meeting
Elks Lodge
Monterey, CA
President Mathisen called the July 22, 2005 meeting to order at 0935 hours at the Elks Lodge in Monterey.
Past President Larry Monette conducted the pledge of allegiance and Elliot Gittleman was appointed Sergeant of Arms
President Mathisen provided an update on Secretary Theresa Johnson’s recent surgery. We all wish Theresa a speedy recovery. President Mathisen introduced our host Division Chief Rick Rodewald who introduced Monterey Fire Chief Greg Blass and Deputy Fire Marshal Dave Reid.
The organization recognized the visiting Fire Chiefs, Building Officials, and Past Presidents.
Self-introductions were made. President Mathisen asked Past President Tonya Hoover to declare a quorum.
A motion was made to approve the June minutes by President Mathisen. A motion was made by Gene Gant and seconded. .Motion carried.
SFM Report was given by Joe Garcia. (See attached Monthly Report California State Fire Marshal July 2005).
Legislative Report
Gene Gant provided legislative report. State legislature to reconvene on August 15, 2004. Current legislative report is available on the FPO’s website.
Adjournment for Committee Meetings
Committee meetings were postponed due to State Fire Marshal Reuben Grijalva’s address to the membership. See committee reports in the minutes.
Program
Ron Coleman presented the Virtual Inspector Program.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
President Mathisen requested the e-board hold a mid-month meeting in Fairfield to complete unfinished business.
Monterey Fire conducted the raffle. Some fine gifts/gags provided by host Rick Rodewald.
The meeting was adjourned at about 1400 hours.
