Greg Hoeger, Sacramento City Fire Department was appointed Sergeant at Arms.
Host Fire Marshal Steve Johnson welcomed the group to the City Of Fairfield. He then introduced his staff: Fire Specialist Kathy Sawyer Shishido, Administrative Assistant Kathryn Meredith, Fire Inspector Morgana Yahnke, Fire Inspector Mark Hollan.
Steve Johnson also introduced Bob Walker of Anheuser Busch Brewery who gave a brief overview of the plant operations and history.
President Terry recognized retired Fire Chiefs Dave Milanese and Bob Kinney.
Self-introductions were made. At this time Larry Monette declared a quorum.

Page Doughty of ICBO announced that IFCI will be dissolved and ICBO has created a new Fire Service Division. See attachment.
President Terry asked for anyone interested in working on the 2000 Partnership

Vernon Brown Sacramento County Fire District discussed a new product called Fire Shaker, which is advertised as a fire extinguisher. Vernon has notified the State Fire Marshals Office. Vernon also announced that the new Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is accepting applications for firefighter, firefighter paramedics and lateral entry paramedics.
Darrell Harguth Past President Fire Equipment Manufacturers Association stated that this is the same company that was promoting spray on roof retardant a few years ago.
Larry Larson Past President NFSA announced two bills concerning public schools and dormitory sprinkler requirements. Also NFSA is offering 3 fire sprinkler classes on April 11, 12, and 13 in woodland. See attachment.
Steve Hart Past President stated that we need to educate our college representatives on the fires in dormitory issue.
Bill Greene Past President Davis Fire Department asked if a live or partially live virus qualifies as an H-7 occupancy. Group stated that this should be a health hazard.
Fort Hartsfield Past President Webmaster reminded the group that we still need sponsors and advertisers for the website.
President Terry announced they are accepting applications for fire inspector in San Ramon. Also the April meeting in San Ramon requires pre-registration. See attachment.
A representative of the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that they are recalling several items. See attachment.
Shawn Byrd Vacaville Fire Department asked if we could register for monthly meetings online. Fort Hartsfield Webmaster stated that this was not possible but we could download a registration form for each months meeting.
Robert Evans Stockton Fire Department discussed requirements for crispy light fryers and if other departments are allowing this set up.
Vernon Brown Sacramento County Fire District stated that the health department of Sacramento County put a lot of requirements on this product and its use.
Elaine Clark Sacramento Building Department stated that the health, building mechanical and electrical departments also put a lot of requirements on this product.
Ed Saiz Past President Daly City Fire Department asked if any one was checking on the insurance requirements for large day cares in R-1 occupancies. He will be putting something together.
Frank MacQuarrie City of Sunnyvale stated that they had a candle fire and that an Omega sprinkler head put it out.
Wes Arvin Treasurer U.C. Davis Fire Department announced 2 vacant fire specialist positions.
Robert Evans Stockton Fire Department brought up the topic of elevator requirements. Several discussions followed. See Fire Protection Devices committee minutes for info.
Rocque Yballa Co-Chair Uniform Fire Code Committee South San Francisco Fire Department asked if anyone was giving information to the organizations that create the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps.
President Terry if anyone had information on timeout rooms at schools to contact him.
