Minutes - Monthly Membership Meeting
Vacaville
The November meeting was called to order by President Rick Terry at 9:33 hours at the Vacaville Cultural Center in Vacaville.
Butch Lee Vacaville Fire Department, led the pledge of allegiance.
Dennis Mathisen Roseville Fire Department, was appointed Sergeant at Arms.
Host Fire Marshal Jeff Ringleman welcomed the group to Vacaville. He then introduced his staff, Linnea Dischinger, Kimberly Korff, Butch Lee and Fire Chief Frank Moore. Chief Moore welcomed the group to Vacaville and introduced City Council member Len Augistine.
President Terry recognized Liaison Chief Doug Williams, Bill Turgeon Chief Building Official, Jay Salazar Building Official and Steve Johnson Building Official. President Terry also recognized 9 past presidents who were in attendance.
Self-introductions were made. At this time Larry Monette Past President, declared a quorum.
A motion was made to approve the October 2000 minutes. Minutes were approved.
Exchange of ideas:
Vernon Brown Sacramento Metro Fire District, thanked all of the departments that hosted meetings.
Doug Williams Rincon Valley Fire District, stated that Stanislaus County is looking for help with Hazmat issues in dealing with the legislature.
Gene Gantt Benicia Fire Department, is also requesting assistance.
Steve Hart is donating another copy of California Fire Laws to the raffle.
Terry Layton Central/Tyco Corporation, stated that flyers for the annual workshop are going out.
Darrell Harguth Fire Equipment Mfg. Association, informed the group that a partial draft is out on the new NFPA 1 firecode.
Forrest Craig Novato Fire District, reporting for George Blind stated that the shunt trip requirement for elevators would be removed from Title 8.
John Gillilan of CAFAA announced that he is retiring and thanked the group for many years of support. John received a well-deserved standing ovation!
Bill Greene Davis Fire Department, announced an opening for Fire Marshal in Humbolt County.
State Fire Marshal Report – John Gulh, SFM
The CBCS at their last meeting approved the minutes, which continued the 1998 CBC. Any changes to the code please give to John by December 15th. The 2000 partnership is on hold for the time being.
Legislative Report – Gene Gantt Benicia Fire Department,
No Report
Larry Monette updated the group on the nomination process for officers. Larry Monette, Rick Rodewald and Tonya Hoover are the nomination committee. They are nominating Danielle Stefani for president, Forrest Craig for 1st vice-president, Mike Stewart for 2nd vice-president, Wes Arvin for secretary and Dennis Mathisen for treasure. Nominations will be held open for final voting at the January meeting.
Bill Tyler of the Novato Fire District has been appointed co-chair of the Fire Service Education Committee.
The deadline for nominations for the Charlie Grey award is December 31st.
Meeting was adjourned to Committees and Executive Board meeting at 10:40 hours.
Afternoon Program – Lew Schalit Tech Art discussed hazardous materials website.

Thank you City of Vacaville and all contributors for an excellent and well-attended meeting! Much appreciation is extended to the Vacaville Fire Department and all staff for making the necessary arrangements. The organization appreciates all raffle contributions that support the organization and committee activities.
President Terry adjourned the meeting at 2:15 hours.
