This was a joint meeting with the Fire Code Committee.

Mark Klugger of Portland Cement presented a matrix table representing a comparison of the height and area tables in the IBC to the height and area tables in the CBC. It was noted that this committee has reviewed this subject and the committee provided public comments to the ICC and we will be following this item in Detroit.

Updated the group on the status of the Handbook to the Licensed Care Facilities. We are about 90% complete and will be ready for peer review after the next mid-month meeting. Requested volunteers for the peer review.

A general discussion of the anticipated workload and time commitment needed to help the SFM with the adoption of the ICC for the 2007 CBC. It is anticipated that those volunteering to participate on the working groups can expect a minimum of two meetings per month and plenty of "home work".

Anyone interested in participating in the preparation for the adoption of the IBC and IFC should contact Rick Terry, San Ramon Fire District or Christina Jamisen, Ventura County Fire Department.

Next mid-month meeting scheduled for 09:30 on Wednesday September 14, 2005 at the San Ramon Fire District Office.
