We had joint meeting with the Fire Code Committee and Hazardous Materials Committee.

Tom Harvey and Jim Monty provided an overview of the discussion and action items for the CSFM Fire and Life Safety Advisory Board (FLSAB) meeting on 10-8-04. Primarily the Wildland Urban Interface proposed regulations, the adoption of NFPA 25 with California amendments, and the UL 300 requirements for kitchen hood and duct protection. The FLSAB recommended all three items be returned to staff for further development. More information is available in the CSFM website.

The plan for updating and/or writing the new Guide to California Licensed Care Facilities was presented to the committee members present. A small working group met in Stockton on 10-14-04 and laid out the basic premise for the document format, scope, and schedule. Those items were presented to the committee for input.

Discussion followed regarding document history, possible copyright issues and a request for additional assistance was made. Rocque Yballa and Gini Krippner agreed to assist in the historical perspective. The proposed schedule for a working draft is to have a document ready for the annual workshop in March 2005. Our Southern counter parts have agreed to provide technical and editing review services.

A mid-month committee meeting was scheduled for November 10, at 9:30 AM at the San Ramon Fire Administration Offices, 1500 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon.

No other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
