- Bill Carmack, CSFM’s Office, has advised that they have received few comments regarding the Fire Alarm Systems and Inspection Procedures Manual re-write. Everyone is encouraged to take a little time to review the document and comment on the survey form. See the March 2002 Devices Committee Meeting Minutes for additional information.
- The subject of voltage drop calculations was discussed, specifically the use of the 10 percent figure as common practice. While the NEC includes a 5 percent drop for branch circuits, the bottom line is that the circuit must have the minimum required voltage to operate the devices. The discussion of this topic will continue at the May meeting.
- Attendees reviewed the proposed CFC Article 10 regulations relating to public school fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
- Jim Bollier, a training coordinator for the
Sprinkler Fitters Union 483, indicated that
they would be willing to assist in providing
training for fire service personnel. He can
be contacted at 510-785-8483.
Respectfully submitted,
George Blind, co-chair
