Old Business:

CSFM Title 19/NFPA 25 Workgroup- Member Jim Feld attended the NFPA 25 code hearing. Eight (8) code changes were presented to the NFPA 25 Committee. Two (2 ) were accepted in principal, six (6) were denied.

New Business:

Steve Hart passed around a copy of FM Global's "Pocket Guide to Inspecting, Testing and Maintaining Fire Protection Equipment 1st Edition". Jaymae will order copies from FM (www.fmglobal.com/catalog) to have available for those interested at the September meeting in Petaluma.

Steve Hart (again) mentioned he will approach the State Fire Marshal’s Office with a request they print an updated version of the California Voluntary Standard For The "Design/Installation/Testing of Self-Contained Water Supply Systems for Residential Fire Sprinkler Applications".

Steve Hart (once again) informed the group that the FPO Workgroup addressing standby fees for residential fire sprinkler systems will be meeting in Roseville Sept. 8th. The workgroups objective is to propose legislation that limits the standby fees water purveyors can charge homeowners with residential fire sprinkler systems.

A brief roundtable discussion was held regarding cpvc piping and compatibility between pipe/fittings and glue. Apparently there is still a difference of opinion between two leading mfg’s of cpvc as to whether different mfg’s pipe/fittings and glue can be mixed. Check mfg listings so you don’t get caught in the middle.

Any jurisdictions having policy/procedures (formal or informal) dealing with inspections of 13D Residential Fire Sprinklers at resale of the home please forward that information to Co-Chair Jaymae Wentker at Jaymae.Wentker@ci.mtnview.ca.us or fax (650) 903-6474.

Respectfully Submitted,

Jaymae Wentker/Ed Tubbs-Co-chairs
