Committee Goals For 2005:

*Assist the SFM UL 300 Working Group with formalizing a policy for replacement/phase-out of non UL 300 systems.

*Assist the SFM NFPA 25/Title 19 Working Group as needed with the development/standardization of ITM forms/tags.

* Coordinate with Legislation Committee to track and support SB 516 (sprinklers in RCF’s)

*Provide support of the Fire Sprinkler Tax Incentive Legislation to be re-introduced March 3^rd

*Coordinate NorCal committee goals/objectives with So Cal. Equip. & Devices Committee.

Harguth- The SFM UL 300 Work Group is working to develop parameters for a "Phased’ change-out program for non UL 300 systems. It is currently unknown what factors, whether it will be the degree of hazard, occupancy classification or other, will be used to drive the requirement for upgrade.

Husoe- Title 19 with NFPA 25/Title 19 Working Group recommendations will be posted on the State Fire Marshal’s web site for public comment. (This will be going thru the OAL process).

Hart- The Maintenance/Service/Testing of Fire & Life Safety Systems working group (a work group of the SFM Automatic Extinguishing Systems Advisory Committee) is looking for an AHJ representative to assist the committee. Contact Steve Hart if you are interested.
