2000-2001 Goals

  1. Organize and attend a minimum of four mid-month committee meetings.
  2. Develop a Mission Statement.
  3. Complete the study on the current elevator codes. Meet with officials from the elevator industry to standardize the code interpretations between the elevator and fire industries.
  4. Complete the study of the Class II standpipe issue and submit recommendations to the appropriate NFPA/State authorities.
  5. Revisit the fire alarm guidelines previously prepared by this committee and submit revisions as required in order to meet the current Codes and Standards.
  6. Develop a guideline for underground hydrant lines and sprinkler lead-ins for new construction that conforms with NFPA 24/13. The guideline will provide details concerning items to be included in plan submittals and inspection procedures.
  7. Develop a guideline for pump houses and related equipment for electric and diesel driven pumps used in new construction. The guideline will include general standards and practices with details from NFPA 20 and 25, the California Building Code, and California Fire Code. It will outline the basic plan submittal requirements. (NFPA Fire Pump Handbook)
