Old Business:

The CSFM Title 19/NFPA 25 Workgroup continues work on forms and labels and is making great progress.

The House and Senate versions of the Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act of 2005 have new bill numbers (HR 1131 & SB 512) and need our support. To find out more about the Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act and how to pledge your support visit www.nfsa.org.

New Business:

Hart- Tyco Fire and Building Products now has a U.L. listed Residential Dry & Preaction System riser (RCP-1). However, the product information currently does not appear on the companies web site. For more details contact Tyco Fire Products (800) 523-6512

For those of us not able to make the May 20th meeting in S. Lake Tahoe members from the North & South have formed a workgroup to address standby fees associated with NFPA 13D systems (specifically) with a goal of introducing legislation in 2006 to prohibit water purveyors from charging standby fees.

A round table discussion regarding the increasing number of residential fire sprinkler systems (NFPA 13D) within some jurisdictions and the fact that after the final inspection/sign-off the system most likely is never again inspected or tested. If any jurisdiction has a procedure in place for monitoring the integrity of these systems long after final inspection (ie.- required inspection upon resale, yearly notices reminding owners about the importance of the system, etc…) please e-mail Jaymae Wentker.

The committee invites anyone with an item of interest for the group to please attend our next committee group discussion on July 22 in Monterey .

Respectfully Submitted,

Jaymae Wentker/Ed Tubbs-Co-chairs
