Plan review matrix update

Bruce Lecair gave an update on the plan review matrix prepared by George Blind.

Report on CFM Fire Sprinkler Advisory Committee Meeting

Bruce Lecair gave a quick summary of the Fire Sprinkler Advisory meeting held on May 1, 2002 at the California State Fire Marshal's Office. Another sub-committee is being scheduled this summer. The Advisory Committee will be meeting on September 4th, 2002.

Fire Alarm 10% Voltage Drop Technical Report

David Hodge provided the committee with a report on the Technical Position Paper prepared by the Fire Protection and Devices Committee on September 6, 1994 regarding the 10% voltage drop requirement for fire alarm system plan submittals. Bill Hopple gave a historical perspective on the issue. Ultimately, voltage drop requirements are found in the 1999 edition of the NFPA Handbook.

Fire Alarm Check List

At the request of the Fire Protection and Devices Committee, Bob Evans and Ron Mahlman formed a sub-committee to review and prepare an updated version of the NFPA 72 Fire Alarm Checklist for approval by the Fire Equipment Devices Committee. The committee will review the update and submit it to the Executive Board for their approval.

Round Table

Terri Leyton will be researching and reporting on Potassium Lactate System at the June Meeting

Terri Leyton reported that uninstalled O-rings are not part of the GB or Omega recall.

Steve Hart reported concerns about statistic being lost as a result of local fire departments not participating in the CFIRS program.
