Old Business:

UL 300- The UL 300 Informational Bulletin issued by the OSFM June 16, 2004 and revised June 23, 2004 has been removed from the State Fire Marshal’s web site. (See October 21, 2004 letter from SFM Ruben Grijalva in the meeting minutes).

The State Fire Marshal intends to bring together all stakeholders to determine an appropriate course of action for California regarding retroactive compliance with UL 300. Contact Senior Deputy State Fire Marshal James Parsegian for more information.

NFPA 25/ Title 19- The final DRAFT of the California Edition of NFPA 25 (Title 19/NFPA 25 Workgroup Project) was presented to the FLSAB October 8, 2004 by Committee Member Jim Feld. The FLSAB recommended that the State Fire Marshal adopt the 2002 Edition of NFPA 25 without amendments. (No word to date from the Fire Marshal’s Office). Thanks to all the committee members who serve on the CFSM’s Automatic Extinguishing Systems Advisory Committee and NFPA 25/Title 19 Workgroup for their hard work. (You know who you are)!

New Business:

Several members discussed President Arvin’s inability to keep track of the beloved gavel. A motion was made, but not seconded, to form the Professional Association for the Justice of All Men with Authority Committee to investigate the whereabouts of the 1^st & 2^nd (hopefully not a 3^rd) gavel. Whereas this committee shall unofficially be known from here on as the (PAJAMA) committee.

Allen Sigl/Sac Metro Fire asked if any AHJ’s were requiring inside (remote) manual releases for smoke/heat vents?
