Code Adoption Workshop: Emphasizing Model Ordinance for code adoption, how to write amendments to the fire code and why an agency should or should not write amendments, When to write fire protection standards and what language is required to be in the adoptive ordinance, How to write Findings of Fact when there are amendments to building standards when they are more restrictive than the CBC, references that need to be included, public hearing and public notice, as well as the importance of including the stakeholders and shareholders from the very beginning of the process. Public Education 1:
The committee discussed the following items:
Bill Greene stated that he is in the process of revisiting the curriculum to revive the Title 19 and
Title 24 courses. A single New 2 day course will focus on the lesser known/lesser used items in those regulations. There will be a 4 hour preview of the New course at the Annual Fire Prevention Workshop at Monterey, in February. Contact Bill Greene if there are content items that you would like to see folded into the New curriculum.
Recent Norcal classes were reviewed and upcoming classes were discussed.
Reviewed draft forms to be submitted to E-board for FSEC use.
