FIRE SERVICE EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Attendees:

Danielle Stefani - Co-Chair, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department

Morgana Chan - Co-Chair, Fairfield Fire Department

Mark McClure- Roseville Fire Department

Darryl Jones- San Ramon Valley FPD

This committee discussed the following issues: 

1. Recent classes, including the Special Hazards, Articles 29/74/45, and Fire Rated Construction have gone very well. We’ve received very positive feedback.
2. We are working on holding both Fire Prevention 2C and 3A in the fall of this year and spring of next year. More details to follow as we finalize the arrangements.
3. There is an interest in urban-wildland interface training. We will research possible instructors and curriculum for this class.
4. There is a possibility that the Fire Rated Construction class may be hosted again by Sac City Fire. More details to follow.
5. Danielle Stefani is working on a Hazard Communications Class for Fire Prevention Bureau personnel. More details to follow.
6. Beginning and Intermediate Fire Alarm Plan Review classes to be held in Fairfield in September and October 2003. Please see class announcements in these minutes!
