FIRE INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE

General Discussion:

We had our usual door busting attendance at the committee meeting.

We discussed the recent CCAI Board Meeting that was held in October in San Luis Obispo. Canon made a presentation to the CCAI Board on the goals of the Fire Investigation Committee and emphasized our intent to work together on training opportunities, legislation, and any other activity that would further our efforts in fire investigation.

CCAI is in the preliminary stages of proposing legislation that would apply a small surcharge to fire insurance policies issued in California that would be used for fire investigation training. The effort is just beginning and a significant amount of details and work on the legislation is needed.

As previously noted, we really would like and need more participation in the committee. If you cannot participate in the committee and you have ideas that will further our efforts in fire investigation, please do not hesitate to contact either co-chair.
