Fire Code Committee

Novato
The following topics were discussed at our monthly meeting:
1. Discussion on splitting the Code Development responsibility between the North and South, with us taking the International Code and the South taking the NFPA development, or visa-versa. Some thought was discussed since the South has strong ties to both codes processes, that we should concentrate on the State codes, Part 9 and T-19, and let them continue as they are. Meeting between our groups would be necessary to keep in touch so that, when the voting starts, we can support them and they can support us.
2. Rodney Slaughter would like a formal written proposal to how the T-19 process is to be accomplished.
3. Mid-month will take care of the T-19 agenda.
4. Rocque Yballa is to draft a letter for schools. Gini Krippner has placed it on the rulemaking calendar.
5. Met with the Building Standards Committee and discussed the definitions of SB 575. Additional discussions were held on the conflicts of SB575 and the 11-20-98 joint SFM/DSA agreement.
6. A discussion was held on the SB 1896 draft regulations.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Monty
