The following issues were discussed:

Per President Rick Terry, the Fire Code Committee met with the Building
Standards Committee. Both committees met with Building Official Lee Braun
who is the Task Force leader and liaison for CALBo and ICBO. He spoke about
California and the new building code. The thought behind the discussion is
how different the IBC is from the UBC and a lot of thought (and work) prior
to the adoption of the next CBC.

Joe Garcia, Co-chair of the Building Standards Committee is looking for
volunteers to help with the comparing of the IBC to the CBC, specifically
the IBC Chapters 3-10, 12, 14, 15, 26, 27, 30, 31 and 34. If anyone from
the Fire Code Committee would like to help with the reviewing of these
chapters, we need to contact Joe prior to their next mid-month meeting.
That meeting is scheduled for 7-7-2000 @ 10:00 am @ the SFM office in San
Leandro.
