The following topics were discussed at our monthly meeting:
Kent Miller, co-chair HazMat Committee, handed out copies of Washington states analysis of the differences between the UFC-IFC and the UFC-NFPA 1. Kent wants our analysis done by the Monterey meeting so we can make a recommendation to Cal Chiefs.
Discussed the 4 November 2002 BSC/Code Coordinating Committee Meeting in Sacramento
Greg Granados, Aerojet Fire, spoke about the updates coming from NFPA on what’s happening at the annual meeting. One thing that’s very obvious is that there will be a lot of bouncing around between the code and the various standards no matter which code is adopted.
Much discussion about how we got to this point in the code adoption process. Many good view points.
Talked about the article in the latest issue of NFPA Journal about the partnership between IAPMO and NFPA, a "win-win" situation.
Larry Monet, retired, Santa Clara County Fire, talked about the UFC code adoption process, while Greg Granados, Aerojet Fire, spoke about the NFPA code adoption process. Kent Miller, Stockton Fire, talked about the ICC code adoption and code change process. It very much follows the UFC adoption process.
Respectfully submitted,
Steve Trout
