1.  The Committee met with the Uniform Fire Code Committee to be updated on the Code Development process and the adoption of the of the 1998 California Fire Code.  See Uniform Fire Code minutes for details.

2.  The Committee was handed printed materials that show a matrix of what subjects are now covered by the International Codes, including Building and Fire Codes.  A separate information packet was also handed out that explained what was moved over from the Uniform Fire Code to the International Fire Code, and what was not.  Both reports were prepared by IFCI.

3.  Steve Forester reported that several recently installed double wall fiberglass underground tanks which are brine filled have had failures of the primary tank.  In all cases they have been new installations.

4.  Kent Miller will be submitting a "procedure standard" for relining underground storage tanks to Underwriters Laboratories for review.   He used the standard during a recent lining repair to a methanol tank in Stockton and it worked very well.

5.  Rick Mueller inquired about a Federal Program that would provide funding for "Weapons of Mass Destruction" Training.  Most all Committee Members knew about some type of class from an Awareness Training Level up to Specialist.  A class on the Awareness Training Level will be taught in Daly City this coming February 16 (Contact San Mateo County OES by February 9 to reserve your spot!
