MEETING MINUTES

ATTENDEES:

  1. Attendees discussed the progress with the IFC and NFPA 1/UFC hearings. The committee will be tracking both codes during the 2002/2003 year. Kent Miller will be tracking IFC hearings and Ron Keefer will be tracking NFPA 1/UFC hearings.
  2. Kent Miller will be attending the NFPA 1/UFC hearings and the Western Fire Chief meeting held in Irvine, California on March 25 to 28. A report will be given at the next NorCal committee meeting.
  3. IFC is adopting the fleet fuel code as chapter 34. This code was brought on board in 2001 code cycle. Pat Mclaughlin was a responsible party for the writing and presenting of this code. Pat gave us an update on the status of this code. Thank you Pat for you participation in the fire codes.
  4. All members should log onto the Internet and review Senate Bill 2141. Comments will be discussed at the next NorCal meeting. Greg Grenades with Aero Jet Fire is providing feedback.
  5. All members bring a copy of their local ordinance concerning H-2 and H-3 occupancy storage and handling. Review the sprinkler requirements for these occupancies. Does there need to be exceptions that are not addressed?
  6. Committee asking for comments on issues with insurance companies VS fire code and business requirements. Attendees go to unidox.org for materials to be discussed for next month meeting.
