HAZARDOUS MATERIALS COMMITTEE

For the Month of March, the Hazardous Materials Committee met with the Uniform Fire Code Committee. The topic of discussion was the State Fire Marshal’s Operation Code Comparison.

In early May, we expect the California Building Standards Commission to make a decision on witch Model Codes California will adopt, ICC, NFPA, or none! Please provide any of your comments to the Committee Chairs. Your comments will be forwarded to the California Fire Chiefs Association so that informed decisions can be made.

In the near future, the Hazardous Materials Committee will be starting a re-write of the Refrigeration Section of the Fire Code (either ICC or NFPA) in an effort to update Standards that correlate with industry practice.
