1. Committee members met to review positions on Uniform Fire Code changes being proposed at the Hearings to be held in Palm Springs, the week of May 30th. Items of special concern to the committee included a proposal to allow threaded pipe for highly toxic materials (rather than welding connections, committee members are opposed to threaded connections) and the removal of special requirements for ammonia refrigeration systems (committee members were opposed to removal of this section, since considerations of life safety do not appear to be addressed).
