- First California Juvenile Firesetter Conference held in Southern California on July 22, 2004.
- Committee minutes need to be forwarded to Bruce Lecair at brucelecair@cityofwoodland.org
- New Wild land PSA there are three confirmed purchases to date. A minimum order of twenty-five is needed. Request that the Norcal Executive Board promote and show at the next general meeting to be held in Monterey.
- Contra Costa Fire had two fire fatalities recently. They blanket a two to three block radius with an educational campaign in hopes to minimize future incidents.
- Send a thank you letter to Chief Forrest Craig of Novato Fire for his on going support of public education and for his awesome staff Bill Tyler and Sandy Wargo who did a fabulous job within the recent wild land PSA. The thirty second PSA took five and a half hours to film.
- Marin County (Corte Madera Fire) received a $20,000. grant for public education. Sandy will be the liaison in helping them put together a calendar of events and public education materials.
- Guest Speaker on the September 16th meeting topic is Juvenile Firesetter.
- Jeanne shared Vacaville Fires "Wildland/Interface" video and "Firewise" mailer. Comcast created the PSA for Vacaville Fire.
- Sandy shared a copy of the full page ad in
the Marin County News "All Fireworks
Are Illegal". In addition, Novato Fire
will be starting the "Safe Haven Program"
in September 2004 for children and babies
in need.
- Old Business
- The new and improved web-site for Northern and Southern Fire Prevention Officers is up and running. The resource or free stuff button on the base page of the web site is now operational.
- Review the refreshment sign up sheet for the monthly meetings.
- Denise will copy the coloring pages and Jon will scan them and distribute via email. The coloring cards are complete and the originals were shared. The card that states "Give Matches to an Adult" (the child is handing the matches to the adult) should have been "Tell a grown up Matches" will be redone and will be available to all on the web-site with the other educational coloring cards. .
- The brochure committee will meet after the next meeting in August to review and start the process of generic brochures and informational materials containing safety messages. The goal is to have them accessible to all on the web-site. (Committee Members: Sandy Wargo, Jeanne Gonzalez, Denice Daly)

8.1 Thank you to Contra Costa Fire for being a generous host.
8.2 The next meeting will be August 19, 2004 same location, same time. The topic will be "Heating Appliances".
8.3 Vallejo Fire Fighters "Black and White" Ball was a great success and a lot of FUN too. The proceeds will go to Shriners Hospital and Firefighters Burn Institute.
