1.  The committee spent a considerable amount of time discussing the current draft of the UWI Chapter 7A Building Standards. Comments to the proposed language are being developed and will be forwarded to the State Fire Marshal’s Office. Deadline date for submittals is December 1, 2004.
2. Ethan shared a copy of a brochure called "Sheltering in Place during Wildfires" which was developed by the Rancho Santa Fe fire Protection District.
3. Ethan shared a new edition of ASTM E1623-04, Determination of Fire and Thermal Parameters of Materials, Products, and Systems Using an Intermediate Scale Calorimeter. A highlighted change in this edition is a requirement to preheat materials used for exterior walls when testing their performance under simulated wildfire conditions.
