Committee Members Present

Roundtable discussion on matters of significance. Jamison and Blaul discussed committee members of the Building Standards Commission, Code Advisory Committee’s. Discuss SFM package and final language/typos committee members will review package of their respective code changes from their workgroups and bring to next meeting. FCC will create one doc to send to OSFM. Baylor shared she is working on 30 yr old highrise with no shaft protection, shaft runs height of bldg. Dossett is applying for NFPA 400 – Haz Mat Committee. Lewis reported LAC is looking at adding a film fee and possible retrofit R Occ highrise bldgs. Lewis requested copies of other agencies "release of liability from Fire Protection" to be recorded on deed.

Discuss combing building and fire committees’ permanently. J Pettigrew requested in March to keep separate and recruit membership. Committee recommends that we stay combined until after Calif adoption. Will send out email for interest in being on the Bldg Stds Comm.

Committee discussed the code changes submitted by FPO’s including H&A changes submitted jointly with ICC Tri-Chapter. Discussed partnerships and began to develop list, members will bring contact info of prospective partners to next meeting, after monograph can be reviewed.

Committee recommends that co-chairs contact Ex Brd to request Ed Comm to partner with ICC and CalBO for IBC and IFC/ CFC and CBC training with internet training. Needs to begin Fall of 06

Members reviewed, amended and approved proposed budget and goals for FCC to be submitted to Ex Brd. Request for approx 17, 000 to send 6 people to both code hearings for 2006 ICC supplemental.

Committee discussed creating a local adoption package which would provide a boilerplate for both fire and bldg departments. Need to partner with CalBO and ICC and begin work after Florida ICC hearings in Sept.

Donelan reported that SFM adopt pkg is missing NFPA references or not complete and not using updated edition. Lang revised results in conflicts of Fire rated corridors and smoke partitions. Donelon will provide email with comments.

Next meeting is scheduled for June 22, Joe Garcia’s retirement party will be that day, advised that we start meeting at 9 and have committee bring something for the potluck.
