BOARD OF DIRECTORS PRESENT :

Laura Blaul - President

Karyn Vaudreuil -1st Vice President

Kevin Scott -2nd Vice President

Ken Kraus - Secretary

Hank Teran - Operations Dir.

Ken Quick - Treasurer

Phil Garcia - Liaison Chief

  1. LA Area FMs. Jim Glew, Pres of LA Area Fire Marshals, discussed coordination between our groups. We will have 3-4 joint meetings per year and LA Area members will continue to serve on our Committees and Board. Jim requested a letter from the Board requesting to change the listserve to CA FPOs and share costs. He will take it to LA Area Chiefs.
  2. Meeting Date/Times. We decided to continue having our Board meetings immediately following the General membership meetings in order to limit drive time of several members.
  3. Mission/Goals and Team. We need to draft a Mission Statement for review by NorCal and eventual posting to website. We’ll also work on specific goals. The team building "event" will be a special Board meeting/Disneyland "tour" in early May. Karyn will make arrangements.
  4. CalChiefs. The Board recommended Phil and Laura attend their next Board meeting/Leg Day on May 12 and 13. The 12th is the General membership meeting and Karyn will also be absent. Kevin was unsure if he will make that meeting and if he can’t, Hank and Ken Q. will facilitate.
  5. Badges, nameplates, plaques. Thanks to Karyn for getting the nameplates made for our first meeting. Kevin will look into ordering new "badges".
  6. Sprinkler Resolution. We reviewed the draft resolution that will be presented to the CalChiefs for adopting in May. Due to tight timeframe for their May 12th meeting, we unanimously voted to move the resolution forward with noted changes, most significantly elimination of the "tradeoff" for narrow streets.

Meeting cut short when we were told we needed to leave the room. Business will be continued until our next to meetings in May (Disney and General membership).
