Executive Board Meeting

Meeting Called To Order

President Arvin called the March 17, 2005 North / South Executive Board meeting to order at 1400 hours at the Santa Ynez Marriott in Buellton, California.

State Fire Marshal Office

The State Fire Marshal Ruben Grijalva commented on the following items:

Regular scheduled meetings will be held in the future with the North and South FPO Presidents as well as the Executive Board to discuss fire service issues. Meetings will be held alternating months starting in June.

The SFM Office wants to address the needs of the FPO’s and work together to support the needs of the SFM Office.

Priorities of the Fire Marshal’s Office include:

• Better Communication
• State Fire Training
• Fireworks Enforcement
• Wildland/Urban Interface
• Code Adoption

SFM is requesting that North/ South Executive Board provide a list of their top 5 priorities and forward to the State Fire Marshals Office. Incoming North and South Presidents Mathisen and Vaudreuil will develop letter and forward to SFM Office.

SFM has received favorable response on volunteers to serve on future advisory committees.

Roundtable

Board discussed upcoming issues that will need to be addressed including:

• Hydrogen Highway
• CPR Report
• Continued importance of North/ South speaking as "one voice".

The meeting was adjourned at 1500 hours
