I wanted to take this opportunity to announce that I will be vacating my current position of President for the So Cal FPO's due to my resignation from the Long Beach Fire Department effective August 1, 2007.

I am resigning due to accepting the position of Fire Chief for the Bainbridge Island Fire Department in the State of Washington. I wanted to say that it have been both an honor and privilege to be associated with such professional and dedicated individuals that comprise the Fire Prevention Officers.

According to our Constitution and Bylaws, in the absence of the President the 1st Vice-President will take over the President's responsibilities. Therefore, Ken Kraus will now be interim President of the So Cal FPO's. Ken will do an outstanding job and is known throughout the State and beyond for his dedication and expertise in fire prevention.

I want to thank you for the tremendous opportunity I have had as being a member. I have been blessed to know many of you on a personal and professional basis.
