  6. Equipment and Devices: N/R The Committee meets the 1st Wednesday of the month in Buena Park at the Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board
  7. Workshop Committee- reported that members next workshop will be at a new location in Rancho Santa Barbara Marriott—March 15 – 19, 2004
  1. Fire Code Committee. Co-Chair’s Laura Blaul and Christina Jamison reported on the meeting held in Monterey. Discussion on presentation to Cal Chiefs. The Fire Code Committee meets every first Thursday of the month at 9:30 A.M. at the SFM office in Monrovia.
  2. Building Standards Subcommittee: meets last Tuesday of the month @ the Sprinkler Advisory Board in Buena Park
  3. UWI Committee: meets quarterly @ L.A.Co.F.D. Camp 2 next meeting to be scheduled check the website for additional information.

Committee submitted 3 code changes to ICC covering 7 sections of UWI code

SB 1361 on Adult Day Care with special egress regulations has

been approved.

4. NFPA 25 – maintenance guidelines will be amended and in place in T-19

    other fire safety stuff.

    SB 575 already mandates

    2. Study on egress from portable classrooms due July 1

    Schirmert Engineering contacted to assist with study.

    3. Structural Safety Regs. For conversion of existing buildings to

    schools (ie. shopping centers) need to acknowledge requirements

  3. NFSA/AFSA— Sam Husoe reports joint meeting on May 16th with

    NorCal in San Francisco. Discussion on issues in 1996 and 1999 NFPA 13

    UL 1926 on residential automatic sprinklers orifice size.
