The Committee meets on a monthly basis at Orange County Fire Authority, and regular participation includes dedicated individuals from as far north as Ventura and as far south as San Diego. In 2009 and 2010, members attended the ICC Code Hearings in Baltimore and in Dallas, supporting code amendments proposed by the joint fire and building code committees in both northern and southern California, while protecting the requirement for residential fire sprinklers and passive protection features in dwellings.  With both the adoption of the 2010 California Codes and also the final hearings for the 2012 International Codes, this has proven to be a very busy year. 

The commitee is currently focusing their efforts on analyzing potential code amendments to the 2015 International Building Codes, in cooperation with the code committees in Northern California.  Hearings for the IBC, IPC, and IMC will begin in Spring 2012.
